SeascapeModeling was founded in 2009 by members of UMaine/GMRI Ecosystem Modeling Lab.
They hoped to create an online forum for sharing the results of their work
and for discussing issues related to ocean modeling, climate change, right whales, copepods, and
crayfish.
"SEASCAPE" originally referred to EMLab's
"Satellite-based Estimates and Analysis of
Stage-resolved Copepod Abundance in
Pelagic Ecosystems",
but we liked the name so much, we decided to apply it more broadly.
